About Advanced Radiology, S.C.

In 1946, a small group of doctors joined together to provide coordinated radiology services at several Quad City area hospitals. As more physicians came to the area, it was decided to divide coverage duties between the Iowa and Illinois hospitals. The Illinois-based physicians formed Moline Radiology Associates, SC in 1969. Advanced Radiology, SC was officially named in 1993 through the professional merger of Moline Radiology Associates, SC, Rock Island Radiology Associates, and Quad City Radiology. Today, Advanced Radiology is comprised of 17 board certified radiologists. Advanced Radiology, SC is the only radiology group to provide professional imaging interpretations to facilities in both Iowa and Illinois.

Dr. Berst's hometown is Waverly, Iowa. He studied pre-medicine at Central College in Pella, Iowa and then went on to medical school at the University of Iowa. After completing medical school, Dr. Berst started his Radiology residency at the University of Iowa. He completed his fellowship training in 2006 and joined Advanced Radiology, S.C. in July of that same year. He has been board certified in Radiology since June 2005.

Dr. Bird's hometown is Oak Park, Illinois. She studied biology at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana before entering medical school at the University of Iowa. After completing medical school, Dr. Bird started her Radiology residency at the University of Iowa. Dr. Bird joined Advanced Radiology, S.C. in July 1994. She has been board certified in Radiology since June 1994.

Dr. Cremer is from Dubuque, Iowa. He studied biology and German at the University of Iowa and then went on to medical school at the University of Iowa. He completed his Radiology residency and additional sub-specialty training in an Abdominal Imaging fellowship at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Dr. Cremer has a strong passion for learning, which was demonstrated with an additional visiting fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Cremer has been a board certified Radiologist since 1998.

Dr. Durick's hometown is Geneseo, Illinois. He studied psychology at the University of Iowa prior to attending medical school at the University of Illinois Chicago in Peoria. Following medical school, he completed an internship at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and a Radiology residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. Dr. Durick completed a Body Imaging fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison. Dr. Durick has been board certified in Radiology since June 2007.

Dr. Ellingson's hometown is Newton, Iowa. He studied biology and chemistry at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa and then went to medical school at the University of Iowa. After completing medical school, Dr. Ellingson started his residency at the University of Iowa. Following completion of his residency, he immediately started a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Iowa. He completed his training in June 2007 and joined Advanced Radiology, S.C. in July of that same year. He has been board certified in Radiology since June 2006.

Jeffrey Hallman, M.D.

Dr. Hallman joined the Advanced Radiology practice in June 2010. He has practiced in Clinton since 1983 when he finished his residency from Northeastern Ohio University in Canton. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois in 1978 and became board certified in Diagnostic Radiology in 1989. Dr. Hallman continues to serve the Clinton community through his partnership with Advanced Radiology.

Dr. Humes grew up in Rock Island, Illinois and studied biology at Illinois State University. He graduated from medical school at Northwestern University. Dr. Humes completed his Radiology residency at the University of Tennessee and returned to Northwestern University for formal fellowship training in Interventional Radiology. Dr. Humes has been board certified in Radiology since 1995.

Our most recent Neuroradiologist joined Advanced Radiology in July 2010. Dr. Moran began his Medical education at the University of Nebraska. After graduation, he moved to St. Louis, MO and continued his radiology training with an internship and residency. Dr. Moran became board certified in 2009. He recently finished his Fellowship in Neuroradiology just before joining Advanced Radiology.

After residency, he did further sub-specialty training in Musculoskeletal Radiology and Pain Management as an Associate Fellow at the Univ. of Iowa. Dr. Shah was a staff physician at the Hines VA Hospital for several years before moving to the Quad Cities. Dr. Shah has been board certified in Radiology since 1979 and received a certificate of added qualifications in Neuroradiology in 2005.
